What you can see from the Cottages

There is a wealth of wonderful marine life in the sea off Fishguard and for those with sharp eyes it is possible to see dolphins and porpoises as well as seals from the patios of the cottages.

Porpoises have been spotted tossing fish in the air down in Lower Town harbour and seals are often seen across the bay off The Fort. 

If you are a bird lover, it is possible to see a huge variety of sea birds while sitting on the patio at Lampit Cottages.

During the summer months Lower Town harbour is busy with leisure boats coming and going, as well as the handful of commercial fishing boats still based here. Sailing races and regattas are regular events during the summer.

The ferry boat, which goes to Rosslare in Ireland twice a day, can be seen around lunchtime and midnight as it swings around the breakwater to dock at  Fishguard harbour.
